Heather Higgins invited me to hear an astrophysicist speak at a Harvard alumni dinner. The dinner was at George K’s in Greensboro. Dinner was absolutely excellent. The speaker was slow. He had an interesting topic though. He compared the differences between the traditional pursuit of truth (mostly religions) and the scientific pursuit of truth. The scientific pursuit tends to cross cultural boundaries, whereas the religious pursuit is largely influenced by culture. It took him an hour and a half to say that.
