TabletPC, Swivel design with keyboard
Stylus unusable, Design of the unit, ports on all sides

This is not a nice review. I got this unit in to evaluate for work, and it’s unusable. No matter how many times you calibrate it, in portrait or landscape, the stylus does not match up to the screen. I read several posts online from people with the same problems. This is junk. If it’s in “tablet pc mode” with the keyboard behind it (the whole reason we ordered it over a laptop), your ONLY mode of easy input is the stylus. If the mouse pointer doesn’t go where you tap the stylus, it makes for a VERY frustrating user experience. I sent it back within a day of receiving it.
A great review that is quite picky, but very accurate

My dad just got an Acer tablet PC, and I played with it last night. I didn’t run into any of the issues you’re talking about. The stylus worked fine and the mouse followed even when it was hovering over the screen. I can understand how frustrating it would be if that weren’t working properly. I thought the 4 way screen display was pretty cool in addition to the swivel.
I’ve never been a fan of Acer, just because I’ve had to work with a lot of their old crappy PCs, but I like the tablet PC. Maybe it’s a different model.

I’ve heard the same from other people about models other than this one (that they are awesome). Acer seems to be leading in features for the price right now. I’d like to know if they fixed any of the design issues that are brought up in the review I cited (for example, that if you’re plugging up lots of stuff to it, you’ve got cables coming out of all four sides…)

I might have to revise that review – apparently Dad’s tablet PC crashed yesterday after he’d had it one day. I didn’t see it, but he said it was a hardware error.
