Pocket WiNC
Overall Rating: 4.5
Experience Date:Apr 01, 2004

Good:
Does a good job sniffing out wireless networks
Bad:
A little unstable (could just be PocketPC 2003 though)

This is one of the first applications I installed on my iPaq. It will show you all the wireless networks it can find, and you can connect to them, check for internet access and use a few tools like ping and traceroute. It was $20 when I got it, and it made placing our wireless access points at work SO much easier.

Pocket WiNC ROCKS!!! I’ve never had any stability problems. Its fun to drive around town with this utility on finding all the open WiFI spots. With this little utility, I can always find an available internet connection. 🙂
