HP TabletPC tc1100
Overall Rating: 4
Experience Date:Apr 01, 2004

Good:
Well-designed, works well, stylish, price competitive
Bad:
Marginally underpowered

Of the two TabletPC’s I’ve had experience with, this is BY FAR the better. The other is the Acer (see my other review). I unpacked the HP and was up and running quickly. It comes with a nice leather portfolio that holds it and its keyboard. The keyboard can be detached easily to save half a pound or so. The voice recognition left some to be desired, but to be honest, I never finished training it. The stylus worked well. The best application of this we found is giving a PowerPoint presentation while drawing on the TabletPC to annotate your presentation. Interactivity at that level far surpasses laser pointing and basic presenting. I’m sure there are other applications, but that’s the best one we found. As far as walking around and helping users/troubleshooting (what we do in my department), the iPaq 4355 is still better because of the built-in keyboard.
