New Balance 991 Running Shoe

New Balance 991 Running Shoe
Overall Rating: 5
Experience Date:Aug 25, 2004

Good:
Super comfortable, VERY short break-in period, last forever, well ventilated
Bad:
Expensive (if you don’t find them on sale)

I bought Sarah a pair of these for a present when she started teaching, and after hearing her (and others) sing their praises for over a year, I got my own pair. Usually they’re between $120 and $135, but if you wait around for a slickdeals.net FootLocker coupon that happens to coincide with the 991’s being on sale, you can get them for around $70 (like I did). They hurt the bones in my feet (like Sarah said they would) for the first couple of days, but now they fit like moccasins. They’re padded very well, and I expect them to have quite a lifetime (from what I’ve heard and read). I can’t emphasize the comfort of these shoes. Usually, as flat-footed as I am, I have some trouble finding shoes that are comfortable (or I have to buy them in a wide size). These are awesome. Probably a good thing I didn’t try on the $200 2001’s. Then again, I don’t run much…
