Tough, good “prey drive” release for dogs

Kongs are awesome. If your dog is restless or destructive, chances are it’s not getting enough energy out doing destructive activities (most young dogs need some sort of outlet). You can fill up a Kong with some pieces of food, or a mix of dry and canned food, and let your dog try to get it all out. Our favorites are peanut butter (which Lucy cleans out pretty quickly) and a mix of dry and canned food (which can take her quite a while). Leslie (Sarah’s sister) mixes up dry and canned food, puts it in a Kong, and freezes it. That makes for a doggie popsicle that will challenge the dog for a long time.

Cassie never really took to her Kong at all…even with peanut butter or other fun stuff. It just didn’t keep her interest. Although, in general, she’s not been a big chewer.

Interesting…I haven’t heard of a dog not liking it. Lucy loves hers…we fill it with whatever…leftovers, etc.
