Wow… that looks a-pretty nice. Doesnt piss me off in the least either. We own a Shuffle and a 2nd gen Mini, so this fits into a different niche anyway. Course if I had just bought a new ipod photo i would be peeved. What amazes me is how short their product lifespans are for a consumer product like this.

Now, just gotta figure a way to put video files off my Video capture card into it… hmmmmmmmm

Yeah, I can imagine iPod owners being irritated, but that’s just how technology works. You can have it now with what it does for what it costs, or you can wait and hope it will do more and cost less.
Personally, I’m still holding out for the LED powered iPod personal projector.

I think Apple’s secrecy and product release cycle is a little more irritating than most other vendors. But, yes, it is the way technology works.

No need for special software, the Quicktime 7.0.3 update adds in an iPod video exporter to the pro version (which is worth having anyway).

Just open your video, export, and select “iPod” and it compresses for the iPod standard of 320×240 @30fps using H.264 Simple as that.
