    hah…although you hopefully never heard me saying that, I think the entire security community (myself included) is floored with these recent developments. I really really hope it’s not an indicator of things to come, but I fear it is.

    No, despite your Mac conversion, I’ve always understood your position to be that hackers go for impact. As Apple’s market share increases, I think we’ll see more creative ways to exploit OS X.

    I was more concerned about the type of vulnerability. I mean…showing a thumbnail based on extension and executing based on content…that’s asking for trouble. There are more serious security vulnerabilities coming down the pike for OS X. Hopefully they’ll be found and reported by the good guys before the bad guys take advantage…

    well all the “vulnerabilities” were mostly just proof of concept stuff, so they didn’t actually do anything. people just wanted to prove they could exploit certain areas of OSX, and they did. Now, about a week later, there’s a security patch for it. Hooray.
