Crazy crazy crazy. Can’t believe I just found this. In Firefox, go to Tools/Options/Privacy and click View saved passwords. Enabled by default. WOW. Mac users can find theirs under preferences. Set a master password NOW!

wow…that is scary. I just set my master password. Although I’m sure I’ll find out a few weeks down the road that that is broadcast somewhere as well…

Can’t believe I didn’t know about this. Right there under my nose.

Wow that is crazy. So if anyone opens up Firefox on your computer and goes to the Privacy, then they can see your password?

  3. Jon Wright says:

Disclaimer: I don’t want to know this because I plan on looking at people’s passwords, FYI. Wake Forest is planning on switching from plain Mozilla as the default email program to Firefox next year and I want to let the load-team know about this so they can change the setting on the load for next year.

    Firefox doesn’t do email, that’s thunderbird….

We really need to indoctrinate you with OSS for windows 🙂

  5. Jon Wright says:

Woops, glad you cleared that up. I guess that shows you how little i know about firefox/thunderbird. All I know is that it is all the rave and people come to the help desk asking questions about it even though we don’t support it…yet…
