The long weekend.

My hands are tired.  I took down 8 leeland cyprus trees this weekend.  it felt good to be outside and in the yard working, but my body is just plain worn out.  That’s what sitting behind a keyboard all day will do to you (atrophy your muscles).  Check out Sarah’s pictures by clicking below:

    They are the subject of the scary stories that botanists tell their children to make them behave. They are worms that grow only on these trees. They are very very common in this area. They create cocoons called “bags” which are brown and about an inch long. They live in and eventually grow into moths in the fall. Once a tree has them, it is very hard to get rid of them. I am rather surprised you didn’t know what they are…but happy for you!

    wow, sounds like ya’ll had some fun. Did the endless fight against bagworms on those cypresses influence your decision to remove the trees?
